IE won't always open until it has been manually opened once

I have run in to circumstances where I have an automation that is supposed to open Internet Explorer and perform a couple of clicks but IE will not open. There is a work around that I have found that, if I open IE manually once, the next time I run the automation (and from there on it seems) it will then be able to open IE. Is this a known/common issue? And, if so, is there any other work around?

Hello, 

This is not a known issue and is not suppose to happen. once your project is running the web adapter is supposed to hook the browser.
