How to get the text from cmd.exe window
Hi All,
i would like to know how we can get the data from command window.
for example i opened the cmd.exe, then i typed ipconfig then pressed enter, then i would get some data on the command window i need this data in to my automation, how can we do this.
To do this, you need to set up a General DOS Console from the Text Adapters folder when adding a new item to the project. It is treated like other text adapters in which you use regions and partial screens for matching and reading/writing the console.
I set up the top line of the console as my match region (C:\Windows\...) and the next two lines as region1. Then set up a button to click and display region1 in the message dialog box. I have attached a screenshot to help visualize this explanation.
Keep in mind you need to be on Windows 7 to use the General DOS Console adapter due to changes later versions of Windows made to cmd.exe
