Does Pega throw an error at client-end/browser when the application is offline?
Does Pega throw an error at client-end or browser when the application is offline
Currently, users logged into application work on a Screen-Flow and perform assignments. At the last assignment, they calculate the Premium Amount.
After this, the application is made to be offline by disconnecting from internet and the user changes the input values involved in calculating the Premium. Again, the application is connected to internet and the user once again calculates the premium. However, the output does not show any difference in the premium amount for both cases. This means that the new input values entered by the user when the application was offline are not stored in the Clipboard.
But the question here is, why doesn't Pega show any error when the system is offline (in case of Desktop Application)? Is there a way to show the error message to the user when the application is offline?

Hi,
Is your Application is an offilne enabled Application?
Again when the system is offline are you interacting with the server? If you are just enerting few characters in the text input then it will not show any errors.

Hi Sahu,
The current version of PRPC used by client is 7.1.6. I am not sure whether this version of Pega 7 has the feature of enabling offline capabilities.
As per my analysis, from Pega 7.1.7, mobile applications can use offline capability when running on a device with a custom mobile client. To enable this feature, a HotFix is required. I am not sure whether a Hotfix is available for 7.1.6

Offline support was added in 7.1.8. However, if you are going to upgrade to make use of offline, I suggest upgrading to at least 7.2.2. 7.4 will be released soon. If offline is an important aspect to your application, then I highly recommend that you upgrade to make use of the offline capability in newer versions on Pega.

When you are offline, it will not communicate with Server. So you will not get any validation error/notification from server.

Please make use of Pega Offline support in Pega Mobile Client or Pega Client for Windows to achieve seamless behavior regardless of the connectivity state of users' devices.
