BIX Reports Scalability?
Hey everyone,
So my scenario is this one:
I have an extract rule that's being called by a Java piece in an agent, and this generates the BIX report of my Case instance + the needed fields. So, is there a way to make this Extract Rule scalable for the business? What I mean is that, if they want to add any other field to the extract rule we need to actually leave the extract rule open in order for the business to modify it.
Is there any other way to have a scalable BIX report while avoiding leaving that extract-rule open?

Hi Fernando,
If it were through command line you can pass the extract rule as XML thus giving an option to edit it.
Which API are you calling in agent java for this? Bix has got some changes for every version, please share your pega version as well.

Hey Ravi,
Is the one called inside the out of the box activity: queueRunExtract
The Pega version is 7.1.7.
And I agree with you, sadly we're not running it through command line but that is a good option to have in mind.

I'm not sure if there is a way without having the rule open from Pega directly. (That doesn't mean there is none, someone might help you with that)
On a lighter note, You can also schedule the command line script using cron jobs to achieve the same behaviour

Hey Ravi,
Yeah, I was just wondering if there's a more user-friendly way of doing it. Maybe a good approach would be to delegate the rule so that we don't leave the ruleset open, but the modifications still would be done in PEGA.
