414 Request-URI Too Long
Hi,
One of our client terminals is facing this 414 issue when he clicks on Refresh button on screen (This button simply refreshes the current Harness). He gets this error below in both IE11 and Chrome browsers.
What is odd is only his machine is getting this issue and other machines are not seeing this error so far. I am not sure how this issue can be machine specific, but anyways from the article below I believe the string size of URL PRPC is posting is exceeding the application server's limit.

Since we are using IBM Web Sphere (Version 8.5.5), the above method is not applicable (It is for Apache) but we are unable to find how and where we can do the same settings in Web Sphere console. Can I please get advice on this.

Above link should be helpful.
However to understand more on this please check the uri(http) that gets posted(Fiddler/neworkTab) and compare it for other user for whom it works.
Perhaps there would be user specific query param that may differ and cause your URI to be normal then general case.

Thanks for the info. These two links are very different approach. The 1st one is a solution by extending size at application server and the 2nd one says it is a PRPC's defect. If it is really a PRPC's defect then we would apply hotfix rather than changing configuration at application server but is this the same defect as what I described above? We use Pega 7.1.9.

The first one would be inclined to fix it at app server end by extending the server side.
The second may or maynot be applicable in your case as here in that particular case it was found that extra parameters were send to server.
You can verify that by comparing the http xhr from fiddler for the user it works and for the user it doesnot

Hi,
We have tried to find the plugin-cfg.xml file but it is not found in the system. I am not sure if this is because we are not using WebShere HTTP server but only application server? How can we change PostSizeLimit if the file is not found?
