Will there be any issues if I use pyListViewContentPage to fetch results from Report definition?
Hi
I am working on upgrading list views into report definitions. In list views we are fetching the results into the page pyListViewContentpage and we are using this page everywhere for processing in the screen and activities related to the screen. Now while upgrading the list view can I use this pyListViewContentpage to fetch the report definition results because it looks like pyListViewContentPage is a Pega ootb page or will there be any issues using this page.

Hi Aravinth,
There are no issues If you use pyListViewContentpage to fetch results from ReportDefinition. The only problem is overriding which means suppose if you run multiple list views in a portal, the last one will override the results in the pyListViewContentpage page.

After upgrading the List Views to Report Definitions then why don't you use your Report Definition .pxResults to get the results.

I am not directly displaying the report definition. I am fetching the results in an activity using "Call RULE-OBJ-REPORT-DEFINITION.pxRetrieveReportData" and then display the fetched results. For fetching the results can I use pyListViewContentPage as report definition page because we have a lot of processing from the fetched results and in the existing code we have used pyListViewContentPage to refer the list view results in many places and it would be a tedious work to replace everywhere

Aravinth - basically the report definition which is used in any section it will be available with some name starts with pgRep like pgRepPgSubSectionTeamExternalUpdatesDetailBBB.pxResults
You need to use this page to refer the results of the report definition page.

Aravinth, for more clarity about the page in which the report definition will be fetched from activity i had created a sample use case and you need to use the similar page declarations in Pages & Classes of the Activity, later you need to use the respective TempPage1.pxResults in your section to get results.
