JMS MDB Listener and IBM MQ Server version compatibility for Pega 7.2.2

Hi,

Greetings. Our client has Pega 7.1.8 and IBM MQ 8.x, we wanted to upgrade to Pega 7.2.2. We use JMS MDB Listeners to listen to queues. There is nothing in Pega Platform Support Guide which states that Pega 7.2.2 should use IBM MQ 9. Can you please let me know if we can still use IBM MQ 8.x with Pega 7.2.2 as we don't use MQ Server directly in Pega but via JMS MDB Listeners.

Hi,

IBM MQ Client version 9.0 will support Pega 722 with JRE 1.7.64 and 1.8.0.

This combination is not supported. Reason can be incompatibility of
 - MQ client jar and MQ Server version combination
 - MQ Client jar and JRE combination
 - MQ server, client and JRE combination

Thanks for the responses. If Java Version and MQ Client jar are compatible, Can we still use the old MQ client and MQ v8.x with Pega 7.2.2?

Java 1.7 is supported for Pega 7.2.2 and we use 1.7 with Pega 7.1.8 as well, that means the MQ Client that we have should be compatible with Pega 7.2.2 as well.

We are attempting exactly the same thing and would love to know the answer. Some of our MQ team are reluctant to convert to MQ9 and are using this as an excuse to force us to remain using 7.1.8. But if we can move to 7.2.2 without having to upgrade to MQ9 it would solve this issue.
