Can we connect the LSA VM to a local installed DB?
Dear Team,
I had a requirement where I needed to store some data in external database other than the PRPC database.
I wanted to try that in my local system using the CLSA VM and any locally installed DB.
I shall install MySQL or Oracle 11g Express Edition in my local system and create a schema and create the tables.
Can we connect to the locally installed DB from the CLSA VM(7.1.9)?
If yes, could you please suggest what would be the steps for that.

When you say "locally" do you mean a second database installed on the PVS or one installed on your laptop?
Sounds like the latter, i.e., you are wanting to connect from the PVS to a database installed on your laptop such as Oracle 11g Express.
You first have to configure the PVS to network to hosts outside the PVS's host -- meaning not use "Host only adapter" mode.

Click on Records > System > Database
Launch one of the instances, click the Actions menu, then select "Get help".
In the displayed Help page click on the "Database" tab.
In that tab are instructions how to connect to an external database.

I already tried that earlier but the CLSA VM is unable to connect to the Oracle DB that I have installed locally on my system.

Yes, you are right, I have installed Oracle on my laptop and not on the PVS.
I shall try configuring the PVS and check.
