LSA 7.3 - connecting to PostgreSQL
For the LSA 7.3 VM (LSA_730_VM_20170831.ova),

shows the below info

I Installed PGAdmin from
https://www.postgresql.org/ftp/pgadmin/pgadmin4/v2.0/windows/
Now, in PGAdmin, Create Server window, what do I enter for 'Host name/address' and 'Maintenance database' fields to connect to pega database? (see screenshot attached)

I do not have the LSA 7.3 VM available on my MacBook but I was able to connect to the SSA VM that I am running with the following (see attached image):
Host name/address: using the IP Address that is displayed when the VM boots. In my case it is Proprietary information hidden
Port: 5432
Maintenance database: postgres
Username: postgres
Password: postgres

Thank you. I changed database name to 'postgres' (and the same for username and password) and hostname with the same IP that LSA 7.3 instance is running now. Get the same error.

Sorry about that. I completely forgot I had ran into an additional issue with the Postgresql configuration whereby the connection is allowed. These instructions will be somewhat generic as I do not know where exactly you will find the files that require editing.
Depending on your VM and the installation of postgres, I have seen the config in different places. The two files that you are looking for are:
postgresql.conf
pg_hba.conf
On the VM I have available they were in the following locations:
/var/lib/pgsql/9.4/data/postgresql.conf
/var/lib/pgsql/9.4/data/pg_hba.conf
I have also seen them in
/etc/postgresql/.....
1) login as root
2) locate the config files and change to that directory.
3) vi postgresql.conf
Change this line from
#listen_addresses = 'localhost'
to
listen_addresses=’*’ (notice it has been uncommented as well)
4) vi pg_hba.conf
then add the following line under: local all postgres peer
host all all Proprietary information hidden/0 trust
5) /etc/init.d/postgresql restart (this name may be different mine is postgresql-9.4)
Now you should be able to connect with PGAdmin. Let me know if that gets you connected.

Download the attached file, change the extension to .sh, then use WinSCP to transfer the attached file to your PVS.
Configure WinSCP to use SFTP. Specify "root" as the user plus supply the password.
Transfer the file to /home/architect
Within the VM console, execute: ls -l
You should see the file that you transferred and its size.
Then execute: sudo ./FixPostGreSQL.sh
Download the attached file, change the extension to .sh, then use WinSCP to transfer the attached file to your PVS.

Within the VM console, execute: ls -l
You should see the file that you transferred and its size.
Then execute: sudo ./FixPostGreSQL.sh
Or if the file you have transferred is the only file that ends in .sh simply execute: sudo ./*.sh
The sudo command will prompt you for the root password.
