Why Pega having both inheritance?

Ex: Work-Cover- and Work-Cover-DupByCus class having both inheritance

Could you please explain how it is?

when you have a class abc-def-ghi with a directed inheritance setting of abc-def, then it reaches that class by both inheritance mechanisms, once via pattern and also via directed inheritance. Hence, both.
