Access group clarification.
If we create application in "Implementation and Framework" layer then application explorer creates 6 access groups(3 for Framework layer and 3 for Implementation layer).
If we create an application in "Framework layer" initially and then "Implementation" is built on Framework layer then Application Express is creating only 4 Access groups(3 for Framework and 1 for Implementation). Can someone please clarify the difference between both.

Could you share the details of access groups created in the last case and also let us know which pega version you are using.
I had tried to create the application with Framework and Implementation(3 access groups for FW and 3 access groups for Impl). Now i created another application2 with Framework only(3 access groups related to FW). Finally created the application3 as Implementation only by using application2 as built on, which is creating 3 access groups related to application3 implementation.

I had tested 3 use cases in Pega v7.1.9 with [email protected] login credentials and got the right access groups as shown in attachment. Kindly let us know if your use case is different.

Hi Manasa,
After more research with different use cases and operators came to know the exact behavior of the application creation logic to find the root cause of your scenario.
- If you login with [email protected] -> create application1 (independent of Framework or Implementation or Implement and Framework layers) -> It will create 4 access groups i.e admin@org, author@org, manager@org and user@org.
- Now if you login with admin@org -> create application2 (independent of Framework or Implementation or Implement and Framework layers) -> It will create 2 access groups i.e admin@org, author@org
Conclusion: So the bottom line of functionality says that it will create 4 access groups(admin, author, manager and user) if you create the application with [email protected] login and it will create 2 access groups(admin and author) if you create the application with other than [email protected] login and nothing to do with the different types of the applications i.e. (Framework or Implementation or Implement and Framework layers).
