Filter Options disapperas when enter " and Apply the Changes
Hi,
Need a help regarding report definition rule. Filter option disappears when user keep only " and click on Apply Changes. This is a common issue for all the reports and we are not using any custom section. It seems like an OOTB issue.
Appreciate quick response. Thank You in advance.
Kind Regards,

Hi Jayami,
I quickly tried the same on a 7.2.2 system, I am not facing the issue as mentioned by you however the Report definition runs displaying no data. Please confirm your PRPC version.

Hi Jayami,
Thanks for confirming. I have checked in 7.2.1 as well.
For me it throws an error as shown in image.
The understanding here is it expect a string in double quotes hence give a error message String Index out of range.
Let me know if you have tried with any of the OOTB reports.

Hi Shanthini,
Thank you for the Reply. I don't get any error in the screen. But in Tracer I got PRRuntimeException.
Step 2 is failing in RULE-OBJ-ACTIVITY RULE-OBJ-REPORT-DEFINITION PZGETFILTERSFROMCONTENT activity.
I have tried the same in OOTb report. Issue exist. Please refer the attachment.

Hi Jayami,
I had created a sample report and performed the filter on Case ID field with R-1 -> returning one record then i tested with " -> returned empty records as shown in the attachment i can still see the columns as well as its filter criteria menu.

Hi Shanthini,
Expectation was it should not disappear from the report. Filter criteria should display and give empty results.
I have added the screenshots of expected behaviour.
Thank You in advance.

Hi Jayami,
If you try with the " in the filter field value then it will fail as strings will be represented within two double quotes and give the StringIndexOutOfBoundsException as shown in attachment1. If you want to search for the empty string then use two "" as shown in the attachement2. May i know the reason behind your one double quote in the filter field value of the report definition, what is your business requirement? as generally we wont search with one double quote.
Suggestion: If your business requirement demands to pass the one double quote in the filter field value then the functionality has to be changed which needs an SR to be created as it needs more investigation and implementation to change the behavior.

Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,
Thank you for the response. This is the same issue which Shanthini got. Please refer the attached screenshots. I didnt get this error instead I got PRRunTimeException in the tracer.
There is no business requirement, but this scenario can happen. We got a defect for this.
When it left only one quote in the text field and click on 'Apply Changes', Filter options disappear from the report which should not happen.
