How to limit character length in RTE (Rich Text Editor)?
Hi All,
I have a RTE (Rich Text Editor) shown to the end user. The user should be restricted to enter not more than 2000 characters.
How to achieve this as the property configured in RTE control will have the stream content (with HTML tags)?

In the property referred for the rich text editor,select the max length as 2000 in the property's advanced tab.

if (theValue.length() > 2000)
{
theValue = theValue.substring (0,2000);
}

I want character length to be calculated excluding tags and other formatting that is applied.
For example, the typical value stored in the property will be like "<p>This is new twitter</p><p><a href="http://www.w3schools.com/html/" target="_blank">Visit our HTML tutorial</a></p>" whose length would be 118 but I want the length to be 44 (calculated excluding the tags).
Will your code snippet help us achieve that?
