What do you mean when you say "do not work for Circumstanced CaseTypes" ?
OOTB Case management do not support Calculations for Circumstanced CaseTypes and is not allowed from Case type rule form and case designer landing page also.

1) In the PDN it is mentioned that "Calculations tab is not available on circumstanced (specialized) case type rule forms. Calculations are performed as defined on the base rule — this maintains calculation integrity across all the circumstances of a case type rule."
2) When the base case type rule is invoked, a property in Cover object holds the sum of the values of a property in Covered objects.
The same does not happen when the circumstanced case type is run.
