I've been struggeling for two days on a well known error with the Virtual Box training material. Here is all the information.
System: Win 7 SP1 64bit
Virtual Box 5.1.6 r110634
Error:

 Failed to open/create the internal network 'HostInterfaceNetworking-VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter' (VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND).
 Failed to attach the network LUN (VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND).

Solutions I've already tried:

1. Uncheck / Check the bridge driver > No difference
2. Install Virtual Box with param to install Driver v5 instead of 6
   1. After that the VM starts without error and I get to the login part
   2. After login I get the following error: Device "eth0" does not exist. I get the same error when launching the VM without any network adapter activated.
3. Add a NAT adapter > No difference
4. Only use NAT adapter > No difference

Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked for me.
One thing that's bothering me is that on the windows version of Virtual Box, you are not able to enter an IP address in the network conf.

Help would be much appreciated as I intend to be certified as soon as possible.

Problem solved. it was basically linked to the Network Preferences. I was looking at the VM network preferences instead of the Virtual Box Network preferences.
