How to Run Activity on User Interface?
Hi all,
I'm new to Pega and desperately need help for building an user interface.
I am trying to make a form where the end user can type in information, and with that info the system can run an 'activity' and ouput response needed to the user. What I've been trying is to:
1) Put "button" in a separate section and place it in the harness --- but when I run the harness the button seems to be disabled and nothing happens.
2) When I try to use a "check box" instead of a button it seems to be responsive. I set up an "action" for the checkbox so that when it is clicked, it will "open URL in window" and "run activity". However, when I do this it reports "failure status".
What is the correct way to connect activity to an user interface? How could I fix this situation?

Hello Vicki Chung,
What version of PRPC are you using ?
Have you tried using OnClick event -> Refresh - Current Harness with activity configured on the button ? (Attached screen shot)

Hello,
I am using version 7.2 right now.
When I tried using Refresh Current Harness, my UI gave me no response at all. If I try running the button section alone it says "no stream to display".
I'm thinking whether if not my entered information has registered in successfully? I set each "text input" as respective properties I use for my activities, but I'm not sure if they're "submitted" to the system like I want them to.
Also, if I want to run multiple activities I'm not sure if Refresh Current Harness would work since it only allows me to select one activity?

Hello Vicki,
You will be able to configure only 1 activity in the Refresh-section/harness action. You can call other activities from the parent activity(configured in the actions tab).
Please run tracer tool which will help getting better insight on the use case (what is being called etc).

Hi Mounika,
I used tracer tool to track and realized that when I entered information in UI (with [text input] function) nothing happened, but the activity did run when I clicked the button.
How would I go about connecting input with existing [property]? Is [text input] not the correct thing to use?

Hello Vicki,
Are there any errors in tracer ? The input on the UI would have been associated to some properties. Can you check in clipboard whether the properties contain the values you have entered.
