6.2 sp2 features do not work in 7.1.7 after checking Include HTML5 document type check box
We upgraded from Pega 6.2 sp2 to 7.1.7. Some of the features like Launch customer portal do not work in 7.1.7 when Include HTML5 document type check box in application rule is checked. Can you please let us know why is a functionality working in 6.2 sp2 broken by using this feature?

I am not sure how you are launching portal ( when you said that clicking Launch Portal ) . If it is something customized as per your business needs then I suggest you to review your design and compare the same with out of the box section pxStudioHeader ( Under Pega-Desktop:07-10-15 ) where in the first dynamic layout we configured the out of the box Launch Portal mechanism. Here first pzPrepatePortalURL data transform is getting called to prepare the URL for the portal and then the same gets displayed via the navigation rule " pzOpenPortal.

Can you please give us a more detailed information like what exactly is happening when you are trying to launch portal ? Are you getting any java script error or not etc. That will help us to understand the issue properly.

Hi Santanu,
In pega 6, OOTB activity RedirectAndRun was used to launch the portal. After upgrade we found that on launching the portal, the screen was getting refreshed as enhancements were done to the RedirectAndRun activity in pega 7. So we saved the pega 6 activity to our application specific rule and used it in pega 7. It worked fine.
As part of next phase of enhancement, we are enabling HTML 5 doc type to the application. Now when I click on the Launch Portal, portal opens up and works fine. But the parent window refreshes and gets resolved to show a confirm harness.
