How to make category as Required for File Attachments

have done some research ad looks like I need to add the validation to the OOTB SaveAttachment activity which is Final rule. Can anybody suggest a work around for this scenario ?

Hi,
Which version of PRPC are you using?. In Pega 7.1 we have Stage Based Case Management, where in we can configure the attachments required for the stage entry. (Example: Stage1 is Attachment step type, Stage 2 is some single step assignment or other types. In Stage 2 you can configure the Attachment category required for entering into Stage 2). Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks a lot for providing your inputs. I need to force the user to select a Category while attaching any documents using OOTB local action and I have defined custom categories for all the work types. For now I have been using the default category "File" when the attachment gets saved in to the pc_link_attachments table

Hi Anusha,
You can use OOTB flow action AddMultipleAttachments , which contains section "AttachingMultipleFilesScreen" both are available rules, this section contains other section "UploadFileEditScreen" and this in turn contains "AttachmentCategory" section. This AttachmentCategory section rule is available rule, you configure the category as required in this section rule.
