Reliability of Referencing Rules
I just started work at a new client and am wanting to be able to use referencing rules to help identify where rules are being used, but this client seems to have a lot of cases where references don't seem to work. Does anyone know which circumstances don't get covered by referencing rules?
For example, if a client skims rulesets and deletes the originals, does that mess up referencing rules?
Are there things that can be done to help the rule referencing feature to work more reliably. This used to work very well pre 7, but it seems to be much less reliable now.

I haven't looked at this specifically with relation to referencing rules, but I know that search filters out internal rules, so if the rule is referenced by internal rules, that could account for it. Also, deleting the originals after a skim shouldn't impact things (except that you shouldn't get the deleted versions as results). Have you tried using the "old:" trick to avoid using elastic search? That usually finds the things being filtered.
