Impact of Automation testing on UI when upgrading application from pega5.x to pega7.x appliaction

We have automation framework for UI testing in one client application which is built on pega5. After our compliance upgrade custom section field ids got changed to achieve responsiveness. Here we need to re write the framework for testing or is there any way to archive the same without writing the new framework

If it is a custom section and you have converted to auto generated section after the upgrade then you have to modify your automation scripts to work with new sections. I don't think any other alternative available for this.
