Installation of Pega 7.x for practice
I have completed self study course for CDA certification and would like to practice hands on in the tool.
Question -
- Should I download the VMS provided with the course or instead download the personal edition from PDN?
- Will both versions behave as on premise local applications which do not need online connectivity
A quick answer will be highly appreciated.

Using the VPS (private virtual server) from the course will be the simplest and quickest way to get a practice environment, I assume this is what you meant by the VMS. Once you start the VM using the free VMWare player you will be able to access the machine locally without any network access at url: http://prpc.:8080

Thanks for the information.
I installed the personal edition yesterday from pdn site into my local machine.
However when I am clicking on the "Install" file, a command box appears and then quickly disappears and I am not able to make out the error if any, this is not allowing me to proceed with the installation.
Any ideas/suggestions on what I might have done wrong here?

The install file is not a windows application so it is opening in a windows command prompt window which the closes on error, to see the error you need to open a command prompt (Start menu type "cmd" hit enter) first and then navigate (use "cd") to the folder containing the install file and run it from there.
