Upgrading PEGA 5.X Custom UI Rules to PEGA 7 Through Activity
In our application some of the sections which were built in 5.X are not PEGA guardrail complaint and we are planning to convert them to PEGA 7 compliant sections using some automated means through acitivity or some other means.
- Is there anyway we can upgrade sections with custom HTML from version 5.X to PEGA 7 compliant sections using Acitivty rules similar to PEGA OOB Upgrade Controls Activity.
- Is there anyway we can move inline CSS from sections or flow actions to PEGA 7 skin rule using activity rule. I know there is an activity named pzRemoveInlineCSS, but this just removes the CSS from the section rule and doesn't do anything else.

No, Because the custom HTML code may contain any type of customizations(HTML, JAVA SCRIPT etc) and we can't generalize an Activity/Tool to update it automatically.

As of now there is no such option exists

One last question ....
Is there anyway we can convert the sections with old layouts (free form or smart) to PEGA 7 dynamic layouts ...I read somewhere that PEGA gives an option to upgrade old layouts to new layouts when certain conditions are met.

Yes, but it is currently a manual process. After upgrading to Pega 7 you will need to rework the current sections and reconfigure them to use Dynamic Layouts, essentially replacing the current Smart and Free Form Layouts with the new Dynamic layouts.

If you used smart layouts (pega recommended) earlier, then you will see "Update Layout" / Update Control" button when you open the section and by clicking this button, it will upgraded to Dynamic layouts. But for other layouts you have to convert it manually. Basically, if you followed the guardrail, most of the controls you can upgrade automatically by clicking these buttons. But if there are any custom configuration then you have to do manully in Pega 7.
