Upgrade only Data Schema

Hi,

We are planning an upgrade from 6.3 SP1 to 7.1.8 and thinking of following approach

1. Split 6.3 Rules schema into 7.1.8 Rules and Data

2. Upgrade only 7.1.8 Data schema

3. Replace 7.1.8 Rules schema from another upgraded environment.

Is this approch feasible ? If so how can this be done ?

Hi Sunil,

If I understood right you are planning to lift and shift the rules schmea from already upgraded environment and perform Data only upgrade on higher envionments.

Yes, this apporach is feasible but before running the Dataonly upgrade you need to run the Generate Rule Schema Objects step.

 

Make sure that you truncate PR_DATA_RESTORE table before you perform the data only upgrade.
