Unable to access the Exercise system
Hello,
I have tried to follow the steps in the PVS Quick Start Guide. I am able to install the VM player as instructed. However, I am unable to access the Exercise System/Designer Studio to do the exercises in BAE7. I encounter the problem when I get to the portion of the instructions where you have to put in a URL into a browser. I have tried IE9, Google Chrome and Moxilla. I keep getting error messages:
IE cannot display the webpage
Chrome: this webpage is bot available
Moxilla: Connection time out/Server taking too long to respond.
My computer runs Windows 7, has a 64-bit operating system, 67.8 GB of free hard disk space and 8GB of RAM.

Hi Femi. Sorry to hear of your troubles.
Let's try a few things.
First, give it pleanty of time. Your machine's spec looks good, so you should be fine once all the services have started. I suspect the issue is network security related.
1. What url(s) have you tried so far?
a. http://prpc:8080/prweb/PRServlet is the first to try, but often (especially at work) it'll be blocked, or your network security will interfere with it. Try disconnecting from the network (if its an option)
b. http://prpc.:8080/prweb/PRServlet add the dot "." after prpc this works a lot of the time, its a wildcard character to help the browser locate the server. If that fails, try following the PVS troubleshooting guide and;
c. find the IP address (in the VMWare Player window). click on it and click away if its just blank. You might have to press ALT and CTRL to get control back if you lose your cursor. then type the url as;
http://[YOUR VM's IP ADDRESS HERE]:8080/prweb/PRServlet

yes Rajeshwaran...i was able to get the login screen as well as use the pvs successfully.
Under setting of the vmware go to adapter setting and change from NAT to Bridged. Shutdown the opened pvs and restart vmware.
