Paginated data page - client requirement
Please see below requirement from ORG-528

We are using paginated data pages as source for optimized table layout, it is only bringing current page records only and everything working fine.
But we have export of data into Excel , problem is it is fetching all records when we use data page in an activity to generate excel. Is there any to refer the data present in the table in the activity?
Our requirement is to provide personalization of table with export to Excel.
Personalization is only achieved through optimized layout which has only two options as source. It does not have report definition as source

- Pagelist Property - (we cannot use this as we have lot of data and only want to fetch current page records)
- Data Page - (Grid is working fine but all data is coming when we use data page for export to excel functionality)
The attachment is an earlier example that was clarified in subsequent calls between the support team and the client.

Please follow below steps to achieve your requirement.
- Create a data transform and refer it in Response Data Transform section of the data page.
- In the new data transform add a mapping to save the report definition page to a pyDisplayHarness page. example pyDisplayHarness.FilterReport=Primary.pyReportDefinition
- Develop a activity to export the data from the grid to excel sheet named Eg: ExportGridDataToExcel and refer it on the export to excel button for onclick event and action is

ExportGridDataToExcel activity should have the following steps.
- execute the RD by calling call pxRetrieveReportData activity on the pyDisplayHarness.FilterReport (this page will hold applied report filters) as a step page. Or else copy pyDisplayHarness.FilterReport to another temporary page and run the pxRetrieveReportData on that temporary page.
- Call pxGenerateExcelFile activity by passing the necessary parameters like binary template, DownloadFile=true etc.
