Is it possible to switch the simulators of data source of a data page with out rule level changes?

In Pega 7, we have an option to simulate the data source of a data Page. Is there a way to associate simulators with out any rule level changes like we define simulators (local & Global) for connectors.

At this time it is not possible to change the simulator of a data source or turn off simulation of a data source without rule changes. As currently designed developers need to turn it on while the integration layer is being developed and then turn it off once the integrations needed are ready. 

However, you may use the simulation feature in connectors without the need for rule changes.
