Intergrating Gadgets in Composite portals

We had a pega 6 fixed portal with gadgets (from DATA- GADGET  class) integrated in the portal rule.  After upgrading the appliction to pega 7, the portal doesn't seem to be rendering the gadgets in it. We are also looking to update the existing fixed portal to gadgets.
