How to embedd a report definition which will return summarised data (Group by data)
We have tried with the following approaches:
1) Using chart control was not able to achieve the requirement.
2) Tried to reference report-definition in a tree grid but not getting the required structure
The requirement is to display the report in a section in a manner when the report is opened using a report browser.
Are there any HTLM tags to include report-definition (returning summary results).

Don't know if I quite understand your question however if you are looking at displaying a report definition in a section all you need to do is to create the report definition and then use the repeating layout grid control and reference the report definition. Depending on the version of PRPC you are using you will then need to add the field from the report that you wouldl like displayed on the UI. If you are using 7.1.6 or higher you can use the Create grid dynamically option available in the Layout Properties dialog.

Are you looking to have all the options available to the user? If so you can easily implement this by creating a button, link or icon and adding an event to launch the report definition when the button is clicked. If that is not what are are looking for you can include the contents of the report in the section and then you would need to create buttons and actions that would allow you to modify the report in the section directly.

Requirement:
It is a summary view report definition having an aggregate functions and it has a drill down report definition called . Our requirement is to display this report definition as it appears when launched using a report browser. This has to be diplayed on the launch of manager portal without any button/links/icon clicks.
Issue faced:
When I am trying to drag it to a section by default it is taking into a tree grid, but the structure displayed is not as expected. Repeating grid is not for aggregate function and drilldown function .It is not meeting the requirement.

Report Definition can be used in Activity for Data retrieval purpose, but it do not suit for dynamic configuration and Sub reporting with nested sub reports and other where conidtions or filters can not be reused.
Why Report Definition is not designed with the purpose of resuability? Do we have to save as the same RD with different name for slight changes and different select column sets?
Any ways to build RD is reuable ways?

I'm facing a similar hurdle.My requirement is to get the data in the report definition (which is categorized using a Column) and show as such in the Section.I'm not sure if Pega supports this feature.
