Complex Event Processing.
Hi Experts,
I am looking to implement complex event processing in pega. I understand through event strategy in DSM we can implement CEP. I was looking for a way to listen to different small events and based on it identify a pattern or complex event. would anybody have the experience implementing this using Pega CEP.
I am still trying different options of event strategy but wanted to check if somebody has experiences implementing CEP.

We are in the process of releasing this capability for the wider audience. We had the first release in ML8 but it is for a small audience. We are busy working on the GA release.
What is your use case and in what industry do you want to use it for ?

In versions of Pega prior to Pega7, there was a capability called Business Events. We had very simple use cases where we had created business events to send subscribers of this event an email whenever an insurance claim with a death was reported. And these events were something that a business user could configure on the fly. I am told that CEP now replaces Business Events. For such a simple use case, is CEP the way to go. Also is this something a business user would be able to configure?
Looking for a way to bring back that functionality in Pega 7.2.1. Should we just go with other rule types like declare trigger or so and use the activity to send an email notification? But that would not provide the facility of subscription which business events provided.
