Pega 7 can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud and yes, you can use third party cloud providers. Each environment can be provisioned separately and in separate environments, for example, Development could be on the Pega Cloud, QA on a Third Party Cloud, and Production on-premises.

The question i have is very similar but is about the hybrid option. Can we have the Web-Node in Pega Cloud and the Pega Rules and Data Schema on premise? connected via a VPN?

Does Pega support such cloud services?
