Objective

The objective of this initiative is to leverage GenAI‑driven Business Extraction and Rule Intelligence to streamline understanding, documentation, and modernization of Pega applications. By automating the extraction and interpretation of rule logic, this approach accelerates onboarding, enhances application insights, and reduces the manual effort traditionally required in modernization and assessment activities.

Technical Process

1. Import the Business Extraction Tool
   Install and configure the Business Extraction component within the Pega environment.

2. Launch the Rule Analysis Portal
   Access the portal and initiate the automated workflow to perform rule‑level analysis.

3. Extract Rule JSON
   Generate the Rule JSON artifacts representing rule metadata, configuration, and logic.

4. Sanitize Extracted Data
   Remove sensitive information and filter out unnecessary details to ensure clean, compliant inputs for downstream processing.

5. Invoke GenAI for Business Interpretation
   Use GenAI to generate human‑readable business descriptions for each rule based on the sanitized JSON.

6. Derive Application Insights
   Apply these generated business descriptions within context of:

   • Class inheritance hierarchy
   • Rule reference and dependency structures

   This allows a consolidated view of business logic across the Pega application.
