Business Calendar - Data Instance Validations

Business Usecase : One of our App has 30 different calendars(hundreds of LOB's) per year & we were NOT able to delegate this data instance to business as the user is entering in-valid data and the application is failing because of the invalid values. SO either we need to deal with owning the changes or with production support and we chose the former.

Why Pega is not able provide a better user interface for the business calendar data instance? 

1) A Date Picker for Closed Day selection Calendar  (User can enter Jan1,  2124)

2) Drop downs for the time frame(start & end dates)

3) Property validations while saving the instance

UI experts can give better UI options but this could be a possible UI enhancement
