Application Server - Red Hat JBoss EAP support

We run PRPC on Websphere application server with Oracle(or db2) as the database and are considering trying out JBoss EAP as an alternative application server. This is primarily to reduce the cost for application server and I am sure other folks out here must have tried this. If so, can you please share your stories if it was a success story or not and if possible, provide key challenges you ran into?

Can I use existing database currently used by PEGA(WAS) when installing JBoss or does it need it have different database/schema?
