Why was "old:" syntax removed with Pega 7.4.

Hi,

Until Pega 7.4, old: syntax was available in search field in Designer Studio. This enabled retrieval from database as opposed to full text search (Elastic search) and was very convenient in case index is not working. Now we all know this is not available from 7.4, but why is such convenient functionality gotten rid of? What is the message behind this?
