I was reading pdn article "How to encrypt passwords, properties, and BLOBs". I came across the below details. I am trying to understand what is rule resolution password, where is it used and how is it useful. Could anyone help me to understand this further.

Rule Resolution passwords

Some command-line utilities require you to specify a PRPC username and password for rule resolution. You can store these PRPC credentials in the same keyring file that stores the database connection password for the prconfig.xml file.
