Watch property example in tracer
hi,
can someone help me out to get the watch property result by explaining step by step with the aid of screen shots.

Please open tracer and click watch, it will ask you to provide the page name and property name. In my case i set it as pyWorkPage and pxUpdateDateTime . Refer below screenshot
Once you are done with this, start tracer and resume other work.When the Tracer next detects a change in the property value, it displays a Property Inspector area in the lower left area of the event window and the event will pause ( find below two screenshot of property inspector and the tracer which is paused and having yellow highlighted row )

You can then check the values in the property inspector window and update it if required and click the resume button of tracer to take it forward.
Find the below screenshot which depicts on how the values get displayed in the property inspector space and how it prompts you for the update.

Also note that I was able to make it work only on IE and not in Chrome ( perhaps a bug which i need to check with Product engineering team )

Thanks for the explanation. Watching a property on the pyWorkPage works fine for me, but watching a property on an embedded page is not working. Do you have a suggestion on how to watch a property on an embedded page?

I have not tried that, but if your purpose is to figure out when a property is attaining some particular value, and you can't do it in tracer, you could try a declare-expression rule that does a log-message (with stack trace!) so you will have an entry in your pega log file when the property obtains the value you are interested in. /Eric
