Unable to change page definition of a page property
Hi all,
Help suggests that it is possible to change the page class of a page mode property after creating it:
https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v717/procomhelpmain.htm
"Select this value carefully. If you update an existing property and revise the PageClass, additional steps may be necessary"
However, this seems impossible for us. To demonstrate this we created two otherwise empty classes:
- Data-TypeFoo
- Data-TypeBar
Now we created a page mode property with page definition Data-TypeFoo
Saving the property automatically performs a checkin. We check out that property rule, no changes in ruleset version or anything else and want to change the Page definition to Data-TypeBar. It will not allow us to do so:

As the tooltip and second error message shows us, when we enter Data-TypeBar and save the rule it automatically changes back to Data-TypeFoo.
I understand that changing the page definition of an embedded page may invalidate existing instances of the Applies-To class, but we are just defining our data model and no instances have been created. Neither instances of the Applies-To class nor any other class that may contains amebedded page of our Applies-To class.
We propably could delete the property and recreate it with the correct class. Above procedure has worked flawlessly in Pega 6.3 SP1, are there any good reasons to disable this now?
Thank you
