Temp Directory Disk Usage Consumption
Hi,
The /temp directory is consuming 15GB of disk space.
In another instance, it is consuming 20GB of disk space.
The PRGenJava is under temp is the one having high usage (10GB). Is this a normal behavior?
Can we delete any unnecessary file under temp?

The PRGenJava has something like 20k *.java files, and there is another directory under PRGenJava /com/pegarules/generated , this has 3k *.java files. There are quite a few directories under 'generated' , which corresponds to one for every rule type : for e.g. activity, dataset, corr, flow, html and so on.

We have never deleted contents of the temp folder any time.
Does the system clean the temp folder itself? Is there any setting somewhere to define the cadence to cleanup temp directory.

So its one of those topic where there is not one correct answer.
But I will share what we do most of the time.
We do not clean PRGenClasses and PRGenJava folders. In case you delete these folder(when server is down), once you restart the server these file will get generated.
Coming to Static Content folder, this contains your export, import etc. contents. If the file present here is of no longer user to you, you can clean it up.
For directories like PassivationData and PegaSearchIndex, deleting them will be risky if you are using File based passivation or have already built the indexes for search.
If you take a look at individual folder size, you will have a better understanding of which folder is occupying most space. Based on that you can take a call.
