sppr_purge_table stored procedure taking more time
Getting PEGA0005 alerts frequently on purging,stored prcedure is sppr_purge_table. when we go through the details came to know this will happen due to huge log usage records in pr_perf_stats table.
Now we decided to stop to loading the log usage records, i just know there is a dynamic system setting to disable the log usage entries.
Could you let me know where we can do that setting?

Trimming the pr_perf_stats table
In a production setting, the pr_perf_stats table can grow to contain millions of rows. By default, the system automatically purges records older than 30 days. If you do not need older rows for performance analysis, debugging, or other reporting, you can purge them by date (known as trimming) without affecting other system capabilities.
Once each day, the Pega-RULES agent starts a stored procedure that purges older rows of this table, passing the value of the pxProcess property as the number of days to retain. To set a retention period longer or shorter than the 30 days, add or revise the following element to your prconfig.xml file and restart the system:
<env name="usage/retentionperiod " value="nnn" />
where nnn is the number of days to retain.
As an alternative to the prconfig.xml file, you can use Dynamic System Settings to configure your application. See How to create or update a prconfig setting.

Thanks for your post.
we have made the cahnge as you suggested, we have updated retention period to 001 day, even though we are getting alerts on purges stored procudere.
Now we are thinking to stop growing the table records.
Could you please let us know is there any such functionality available?
