Securing PDF coming from external source

We have one requirement to secure PDF while sending that as attachment in email. Client doesn't want to protect the PDF with password.

Is there any other way to secure the PDF?

In case the PDF can be made read only to refrain user from editing, also works as a workaround for the client.

Any lead or help is appreciated.

@ABHISEKSAU Yes, you can make a PDF read-only before sending it as an email attachment. This can be achieved by marking individual fields as read-only in the PDF rather than adding Adobe security features. Another approach is to use the GenerateEForm and ConcatenateEForms methods to generate a read-only PDF. After calling GenerateEForm on the Step Page, copy the property from steppage.pyEForm to a new step page, stepPage2.pyEForms(1). Then, invoke ConcatenateEForms on the new step page and select PerformFieldFlattening. Run the activity to generate a read-only PDF.

Pega doesn't provide out-of-the-box features to secure or make read-only PDF files received from external sources. However, you can implement security measures at the application level. For instance, you can restrict the access to the PDF files based on user roles and privileges. Also, you can store the PDF files in a secure location and limit the access to that location. Please note that these measures do not make the PDF files themselves read-only or secure, but they can help to control who can access these files within your Pega application.
