Restrict text box to certain decimal points
Hi,
I need to restrict a text box to 3 decimals (For ex; User should not be able to enter after 2.123). I tried using pyDecimalPrecision in property but that is not working. I am searching for the exact solution.

For a text property, assign the pxNumber as the control, and in the presentation tab, provide the decimal places to the required number.

That didn't seem to work for me for some reason.
Assuming that you have a Decimal property, you could add the pyDecimalPrecision qualifier to your property (Advanced tab) specifying a value of 3.
I don't think this will prevent users from typing more than 3 decimal values, but it should restrict the saved value to 3.

I've tried changing the control to Decimal as well. But again this appears to be reactive (reduces to 3 on submit/save) instead of restrictive.

Hi Bran,
Yes, pyDecimalPrecision is not stopping user to enter more than specifica characters but, it will refresh and give you the 3 decimals by rounding off the remaining values.

Hi Haritha,
This approach is only for the read only formatting. But we need something to stop user from entering more than 3 decimals. To be more specific, keyboard should respond after 3 decimals in textbox.
