Recommendations for 3rd party PDF integrations
Looking to future projects, I am wondering if anyone can share experiences on 3rd party tools they used for PDF generation.
As a note, I am aware of the Document Content Engine plug-in, which I am currently exploring / testing, I am looking for views on good 3rd party alternatives here.
What I am looking for:
- Secure communication
- Processing preferably local, e.g. no communication to 3rd party servers of Customer-/Case- Data.
- We should be able to define styling in a template, e.g. the DIN 5008 format which is used for letters
- Low maintenance, we may have to set up initial styling, but we should be able to delegate specific (text) contents, logo, footer, etc. to users that have no knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Content is dynamic, based on the choices made / data entered in the case we may end up with 3, 50 or more PDF pages
- Supports digital signing
- Output should be accessible (screenreaders), PDF/UA)
- Output can be either a document intended for archiving (PDF/A) or contain editable form fields

@Dennis You can use Aspose which is an good alternative, and pega have its library inbuilt. For testing you can use it as it and the generated file will have the watermark and once you buy the licence you add to the generate function it will remove the watermark.
We have used this for few clients and its a good and simple way to avoid passing data outside of your current infrasucture.
