Read-Only Dropdown Shows Code Instead of Description in Constellation Pega
I have a dropdown in Constellation Pega sourced from a data page that contains both a code and a description. The property used for the value is Code, and the property used for the display text is Description.
My dropdown property has a value and is set to read-only. However, on the UI, the code is displayed instead of the description.
For example, Code: IN, Description: India. Instead of seeing India, the UI shows IN.
Interestingly, the dropdown displays correctly when it is editable.

This happens because in read-only mode Constellation shows the property’s stored value (Code) and not the option caption (Description). Quick fixes: first, open the field (picklist) config and enable the setting that shows display text in read-only (wording varies by build, e.g., “Show caption when read-only” or similar). If your build doesn’t have that, store the label too: on change/submit, set .CountryName = D_CountryList[Code:.CountryCode].Description and use CountryName for read-only display. Another clean option is to store the whole option page (not just the code) and bind the read-only text to .SelectedCountry.pyCaption (or your Description property). You can also add a computed property with a declare expression that looks up Description by Code from the data page and render that property when read-only. Finally, confirm your source list maps value→Code and caption→Description; if Constellation expects pyValue/pyCaption, map Code→pyValue and Description→pyCaption via a data transform.
