Query regarding reusing SSL connection in connect-http

In our application , we are using connect-http for bulk transactions(live sms) to 2lakh customers daily.

We could see the performance degrade in production while doing so.

From network trace, we could see those ssl connections are not being reused.Its creating new connection.

we have raised SR-D62590 for the same and came to know that there is no straightforward way to reuse the ssl connections.

I beleive this should have been fixed in latest versions of pega. If yes, backword comptability is possible?

Please suggest here.

It would be highly unlikely this is addressed even in latest release as connect-http is not invested (more or less a deprecated feature) as it is replaced by connect-rest. Suggest you use connect-rest if possible, it is http based in essence. What is your Pega version?
