Pega Unit testing advantages

Hello All,

   We are running in Pega 8.7 and upgrading ton 8.8 soon. we also have very good automation testing written by our testing team .

Considering that our automation testing scripts covers almost 95% scenarios , what benefits we get by further writing Pega unit test cases. We are having some kind of discussion why we need to write pega unit test cases when we have most scenarios covered by testing team .

Is ir reasonable to skip Pega Unit test cases in this scenario ? Suggestions and thoughts please

Hello,

Unit test is more at DEV level that it will intervene, to be sure that single functionalities is still working even after the change/update.

So that you're safe to continue with package/deployment.

Your testing team will work on deployed version in a real & integrated test environment, which is after the deployment which itself can be confirmed with high quality with unit test.

It's not a same level and UT provides confidence in changes done.
