PEGA Robotics Studio (Openspan) Unable to interrogate Clickonce application
Hi All,
We are trying to interrogate a 'Clickonce' application and are facing issues. Appreciate if anyone could help out!
Here are the details -
- Path set to the clickonce file C:\File\xxx.application under properties (Windows application).
- Target path automatically defaults to dfshim.dll.
- After clicking on 'Start Interrogation', the application launches followed by a pop up stating 'The process dfshim.dll failed to start within the given timeframe. Continue waiting?'. Same pop-up appears after clicking on continue. Interrogation form does not appear.
- Clicking on 'Start interrogation' without a target path will force a pop-up window stating TargetPath must contain a value for StartMethod StartandWait and plus adaptor error details.
- Using the 'Monitor All' start method does not work either. Launching the application after the interrogation form is started does not allow the application to be interrogated.

The simplest way to do this is to create a Windows Application adapter. Set your adapter Start method to StartAndWait. The application you are going to start is Internet Explorer (set Path to the full path to iexplore.exe) with Arguments set to your ClickOnce Url. The TargetPath will be the process name you see in Task Manager (on the processes tab) when the application is running. You will need to extend the StartTimeout to allow for download time when the application is updating.
StartAndWait will start the application in the Path property and wait for the application in the TargetPath and then attach.

Great info! We tried running the clickonce app through Internet explorer and are encountering IE security issues (unsigned app). Unfortunately the settings are pretty much locked down. Early tries, we are going to play with it a little more. Thanks Jeff!

Hi Jeff,
I'm facing similar issue with ClickOnce app interrogation, How can we interrogate this app if we don't have browser UI ?
I have windows version of clickonce app with which i need to proceed interrogation.
