Pega OOT Functions to remove duplicate entries from a PageList
Hello All,
Using functions pyRemoveDuplicatesFromPagelist or pzRemoveDuplicatesFromListPage duplicate entries will be removed from your pagelist but it's unfortunate to see pxResultCount not being updated with the new results. This property should get updated with the count of new results after duplicates are removed, however it is still displaying the old picture.
Is this a bug in the above two functions?
I also tried removeDuplicatesFromList function, although pxResultCount is getting updated with the new picture but somehow it didnt work for me - I had 18 records with the same keyProp value but the function removed 14 entries.
I would like to hear your comments on the above please.

I have extended pyRemoveDuplicatesFromPagelist function in our application library by adding the below code at the end of java code.
// update pxResultCount
ListPage.putString("pxResultCount", "" + pageList.size());
By this pxResultCount will hold the correct value instead of the misleading value of initial pagelist.
I believe these OOTB functions should get extended as above so as the correct value of pxResultCount is retrieved by default.

The java code written in those functions (pyRemoveDuplicatesFromPagelist or pzRemoveDuplicatesFromListPage) do not update the pxResultCount at the end of removal and thus you are not being able to see the same.

Yes I know, I had already had a look at the java code of these functions. But, what I meant to say was shoudnt these functions also update pxResultCount after removal of an item? To me, once an item is removed from a PageList pxResultCount should also get updated to track the count of the items. Otherwise, the functions are incomplete, in my opinion.

You can look into the sample use case in the attachment to remove duplicates based on UserName field.

If the Same Java Step is used for a Pagelist formed from a Page-Copy then what would be the Field to be entered in the below line?
