Pega Log Purge in AWS PODs
Hello Team, we are on AWS EKS env our volume is filling up due to logs is there a way it can be purged... from prlog4j2.xml we can only rotate Pega won't take care of purging logs. Thanks

1. It is suggested to move the logs to a vault periodically to a common location for your audit purpose if required - there by you dont need to worry about such files on POD's. if there is no such use case then follow the step #2.
2. Redeploy all your POD's with a new CRON job configuration added to the Docker image - which is responsible for deleting the desired files out of the POD.

@SriHarsha Anika As of now we are redeploying but can do this way in regular intervals... 7 days of backlogs need to get deleted in POD either we need to schedule the job or Pega needs to customize the docker image to do it.

@SREECHARANYes - Configure a JOB in your current Docker File in addition to existing Pega Image and redeploy the POD. there by JOB deployed along the side of Pega POD will monitor logs and delete as per the configuration.
Update your Dockerfile with relevant image which is responsible for file deletes and redeploy your POD.
Configure the file delete image with desired date time to perform the file size, date checks and perform delete

@SriHarsha Anika thanks for your reply sriharsha... but pega is not allowing us to make any changes in the docker file. I already asked over SR one year back. As a consumer, we can't change images only can use them. Note: we are using the latest image for the version we are using.

@SREECHARAN you have build a custom image from the standard image given by Pega.
they don't support SR for this requirement because it is a customization of standard image.
Being a customer you have to build the custom images as per your requirements. Pega only provides standard images.
work with your devops/cloud team to build required custom docker images as required.
