Pega 8.4.4 supports GRS on Connect-SOAP unlike Connect-REST . Expected Behavior ?

We migrated from Pega 7.3.1 to 8.4.4 and noticed that  Connect-REST rules are not supporting GRS anymore(=D_DataPageName.property  Format) . Found the link related to that https://community.pega.com/support/support-articles/grs-not-supported-endpointresource-path-url . However ,  Connect-SOAP rules still seem to be supporting this format . Is this an expected behavior ?
