Pega 7.1.8 performance issue
Hi All,
We recently migrated to pega 7.1.8 and jboss 6.3.3 and Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release Proprietary information hidden.0 - 64bit.
The new servers has 2 to 3 times more hardware capability than our old pega 6.1 servers but still pega 7.1.8 performance is a lot slower than the pega 6.
We are trying to figure out what is affecting the performance but if any guys faced the same problem or could point us to any leads where to look at would be of great help.
Below are some issue we found in our initial (first research).

I would first compare the prconfig settings between your old and new environments. I saw a lot of Pega0037 in the alert log. Also make sure Oracle db stats are run for your new environments. There are several Pega0005 as well.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your response.
We had reran the stats in oracle db and tried to compare the prconfig files but pega 7 has a lot of additional things configured (mainly in the dynamic system settings) its make though for us to make exact comparison.
Do you have any specific attributes in mind you suggest us to check them.

I am more interested your pega 6 prconfig settings related to rule cache. If your old system has those settings set but not in pega 7 system, then pega0037 can be explained.

Hi Kevin,
One more thing i noticed today may be it doesn't matter.
both pega 6 and 7 has 8 gb ram size in application servers.
pega 6 is using only 20 to 25 percent of the memory while pega 7 us using 6o to 70 percent.
seems like pega 7 is consuming way lot more resurces and is 8gb ram sufficient for pega 7 application server to get its performance better.
